Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has landed some big-time prospects over the years.

That effort began with his son, Shedeur Sanders, but has also included athlete Travis Hunter, offensive tackle Jordan Seaton quarterback Julian Lewis and others.

Hoping to land a marquee quarterback in the class of 2027, Colorado has targeted one of the nation's fastest-rising signal-callers.

And the interest is mutual.

Chaparral (California) four-star quarterback Dane Weber announced Saturday that he will be taking an unofficial visit to Colorado for the game against Arizona on November 1:

That's significant news, as few quarterbacks have been better than Weber this season.

At midseason, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound dual-threat athlete had thrown for 1,718 yards and 19 touchdowns while completing 74 percent of his passes 305 rushing yards and six more scores.

Colorado is still searching for its first commitment in the class 0f 2027, but has 13 commitments in the 2026 cycle, a group that is ranked No. 69 overall.

That gives Sanders and his coaching staff plenty of wiggle room to climb and it would be a surprise if Colorado didn't jump another 20-plus spots before Signing Day.

But can the Buffaloes quickly add the quarterback cornerstone in 2027?

They'll have a shot with Weber in the coming weeks.
