Nick Saban says 'haunted' Iron Bowl is a 'trap game' for Alabama image

Nick Saban knows the signs and history and when Alabama heads down to Auburn for the Iron Bowl. Especially under the Saturday night lights.

On ESPN’s College GameDay, the former Alabama head coach called the matchup a classic “trap game” scenario and leaned fully into the stadium’s eerie reputation.

“Alabama going to the haunted house is scary to me,” Saban said. He has publicly labeled Auburn’s stadium as “haunted” for years, a belief shaped by some of college football’s most improbable Iron Bowl swings, including the 2013 "Kick Six" — a moment that lives alongside personal scars.

Saban went 5-4 against Auburn in Jordan-Hare during his tenure, losses that often defied logic.

Alabama arrives 9-2 and ranked No. 10 nationally, with its College Football Playoff position in jeopardy if it slips. On the other hand, Auburn sits one win from bowl eligibility with its own postseason stakes intact after firing Hugh Freeze. One silver lining to the rivalry.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, marking Kalen DeBoer’s first road trip to Auburn.
