Nick Saban might not be done yet.
The legendary Alabama football coach, who stepped down after the 2023 season, may have more time on the sideline left in him.
His former quarterback, Greg McElroy, spoke on his show Monday morning about the possibility.
“This is a little bit out of left field, but the question was asked of me … a very much in the know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around and just really, really admire," McElroy said. “They seem to think Nick Saban’s not done coaching. I had a similar reaction. He’s pretty adamant that he thinks Nick Saban will be coaching again. … Look, if it wasn’t someone notable, I’d never say a word.”
Saban won six national championships with the Crimson Tide. He also had one at LSU.
In all, his college coaching record is 292-71-1.
Saban spent 2024 as part of ESPN's College Gameday crew and is slated to do that again in 2025.
He'll turn 74 on Halloween.
But as with many coaches, the work is in their blood. Maybe Saban has another season or two left in him somewhere.
