The high school basketball season is just about here, and the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026 has a new home.

Tyran Stokes has enrolled at Rainier Beach High School in Washington state, according to The Seattle Times.

Stokes is a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward whose college and professional basketball future is likely very bright.

First, he's got one more season to play at the scholastic level.

Why did Tyran Stokes leave Notre Dame?

Tyran Stokes previously was enrolled at Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, California.

According to Sports Illustrated, Stokes was "facing disciplinary issues at the school, including altercations with students."

SI added that Stokes missed multiple football games due to a suspension, and that Stokes left Notre Dame in early November.

What is Rainier Beach High School?

Rainier Beach High School is a basketball powerhouse in the state of Washington.

They went 28-3 last season to win the program's 10th state title.

Michael Bethea has been the Rainier Beach head coach for more than 30 years. He's assisted by NBA great Jamal Crawford, who won a state title in 1998 at Rainier Beach.

Crawford's son, JJ, is on the team.

They open the season Nov. 29 against Kennedy Catholic.

Tyran Stokes' college plans

Stokes has cut his school list to three: Kentucky, Kansas and Oregon.

"As far as his college plans, Kentucky has been the perceived favorite down the stretch of his recruitment, but don't count Kansas and Oregon out just yet," ESPN wrote this week.
