One of college basketball's great intracity rivalry games returns Friday as Xavier hosts Cincinnati in the 2025 edition of the Crosstown Shootout.
The Musketeers (6-3) and Bearcats (7-2) appear fairly evenly matched entering their annual matchup, though Xavier enters with a bit more momentum riding a three-game winning streak.
The Musketeers feature a balanced attack, with Tre Carroll (15.9 points per game) leading four players averaging double-digit points. The Bearcats are paced by Baba Miller, who is averaging a double-double with 14.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. It will be the first experience with the rivalry game for Carroll and Miller, who were teammates at Florida Atlantic last season.
The two Queen City schools first faced each other in 1928 and will meet for the 93rd time Friday. UC snapped the Musketeers' five-game winning streak in the series last season.
