A picture is worth a thousand words.
That photograph at the top of this article, of Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, certainly is.
That's 'Melo being a father. His son, Kiyan, is a freshman for the Orange. And Kiyan had just driven down the lane in a crucial moment late against Hofstra on Saturday.
Replays indicated clear as day that Kiyan had been fouled.
But there was no-call, and the only whistle came afterward, when Syracuse had to intentionally foul Hofstra.
Here's a look:
Unbelievable Kiyan Anthony gets absolutely screwed at the end.

This was the worst reffing performance I’ve seen this year. Pic.twitter.com/txdNqzJy2c
In the end, Syracuse lost by a point. That was pretty darn important.
It's the kind of loss that can derail a season.
And while officiating is tough, it's hard to see how this call got missed. Kiyan's whole right arm got absolutely smacked. That's why he lost the basketball on the way to the hoop.
Carmelo wasn't thrilled, and neither was the rest of the Syracuse fanbase.
