Maryland makes statement with Babatunde Oladotun pick, enters Top 5 class in 2026 image

The Maryland Terrapins burst into the top-five nationally for the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to ESPN. That's in large part due to the commitment of five-star forward Babatunde Oladotun (No. 8 overall).

Coach Buzz Williams also added guard Kaden House (No. 47) and forwards Austin Brown and Adama Tambedou. The lineup of small bigs will play a significant role starting next year.

Oladotun’s 6-foot-10 frame will put him in the conversation as one of the best in the Big Ten newcomers. He's a multi-positional defensive-minded player ar his core. But also his shot-making ability give Maryland an immediate impact performer.

House, who is the son of former NBA guard Eddie House, provides scoring punch and toughness, while Brown and Tambedou bring physicality to the frontcourt.

This recruiting class sends a strong message that Maryland is gearing up to compete in the Big Ten and nationally.

With Williams at the helm and many returning talents to the program, the Terrapins’ 2026 class could deliver a fresh wave.
