Syracuse nearly pulled an upset of No. 3 Houston on Monday.

Although the Orange came up short, it was a notably impressive day for a handful of SU's players, including Kiyan Anthony.

Carmelo Anthony's son made a few impressive plays in the first half, including one sweet steal and dunk.

He finished the game with 10 points. Nine of those came in the first half.

Kiyan did it with parents Melo and La La sitting courtside in Las Vegas.

The Orange trusted Kiyan with a solid chunk of minutes in part because of the impact he was making in the full-court press.

He's played more early in his freshman year than some were expecting. Kiyan was a top-40 recruit in his class, but not a top-three recruit like his dad had been.

Carmelo led Syracuse to a national championship in 2003 in his one-and-done campaign with the Orange.

That likely won't be matched by Kiyan. But he's shown so far that he belongs at this level, and he'll keep trying to make a name for himself.
