AJ Dybantsa's name seems likely to be in the basketball headlines for a long time.
The superstar freshman at BYU is just beginning his college basketball career. But he's already been a top recruit, which brings its own attention, and he'll likely soon be an NBA star, its own brand of spotlight.
Along the way, there will be attempts to gain notoriety off of Dybantsa's name.
That already appears to be happening with a viral post on X that's proclaiming a Dybantsa suspension that doesn't exist.
Is AJ Dybansta suspended?
No, AJ Dybansta is not suspended.
The concept has arisen from a viral post on X put out by the account @ScottHughesCBB:
JUST IN: BYU has suspended star freshman AJ Dybantsa for the first half of the team’s game against Holy Cross on Saturday. Dybantsa blatantly violated the university’s Church Educational System Honor Code by using profanity in a team practice earlier today.

That isn't real news. It hasn't been reported by any of the major college basketball insiders, and it would be huge breaking news if there was any truth to it.
This is the same account that, earlier in the week, reported that Adrian Wojnarowski had been kicked out of the St. Bonaventure game for yelling at the referees. Woj was very much seated comfortably at that game from start to finish.
