The Kansas Jayhawks secured the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation for 2026, led by five-star point guard Taylen Kinney (No. 17 overall), according to ESPN.
Coach Bill Self also added forward Davion Adkins (No. 46) and wing Trent Perry (No. 77). Kinney’s size and athleticism makes him a perfect fit to take over the lead guard role in the post-draft departure era after Darryn Peterson is expected to bounce to the NBA.
Adkins brings physicality and multi-position potential to play either in the four or five spot. While Perry gives perimeter length and defensive upside for the Jayhawks.
Kansas’ class is squarely focused on backcourt strength and wing athleticism. It's two areas Self consistently targets in his recruiting strategy.
With the players now in place, the Jayhawks are positioned for success amid Big 12 competition and national expectations. But this is a good sign as the conference's top team ahead of Oklahoma State (7) and Houston (11) for next year.
