After winning a national title, Todd Golden is staying with Florida for the long term.
Golden agreed to a six-year, $40.5 million contract extension on Tuesday, according to a release from the school. It makes him the fourth-highest paid coach in men's college basketball by average annual value.
In 2025, Golden led the Gators to their first national championship since going back-to-back in 2006 and 2007. Florida also won the SEC tournament for the first time since 2014.

Golden started his head coaching career with San Francisco in 2019 in the West Coast Conference. He will now be the second-highest paid coach in the SEC behind only John Calipari.

Golden, 39, is coming off the best season of his coaching career, completing a turnaround of the Florida program in just three seasons as head coach. Under Golden, the Gators went from 16-17 to 24-12, and then to 36-4 with a national title. He is 76-33 (.697) with Florida and 133-69 (.658) overall as a head coach, including his three years at San Francisco.
