The Washington Wizards are starting the youngest lineup in NBA history on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets.
The average age, via The Athletic's Josh Robbins: 20.64 years old.
The NBA began tracking starters in the 1970-71 season. There has never been a younger five.
The record gets set in part because Khris Middleton is sitting out Saturday's game with a sore left foot.
The five:
- Bub Carrington
- Tre Johnson
- Will Riley
- Kyshawn George
- Alex Sarr
Carrington checks in at 20 years, 187 days old, now in his second NBA season out of Pitt.
Johnson is a rookie out of Texas, and he's 19 years, 323 days old.

Riley is a rookie out of Illinois, 19 years and 348 days old.
George is the elder statesman here at 22 years and 43 days old. He's in his second year in the league out of the University of Miami.
Sarr rounds it out at 20 years and 273 days old, also in his second season.
It'll be fun to see how the kids perform in this one for Washington. The Wizards are setting a record regardless, but it'd feel better in a win.
