The Washington Wizards added a new player to the roster on Tuesday morning.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Skal Labissiere is joining Brian Keefe's team on a 10-day contract. He is a call-up from the Wizards’ G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go.

The 29-year-old is a former first-round pick out of Kentucky. During his lone year at UK, Labissiere appeared in 36 games, averaging 15.8 minutes per matchup. He produced 6.6 points per game, making 51 percent of his shots.

The Phoenix Suns drafted Labissiere with the 28th overall pick in 2016. The former five-star recruit was flipped to the Sacramento Kings. He spent the first three seasons of his NBA career playing for the Kings. He had a steady role, until he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2018-2019.

During his first and only full season with the Blazers, Labissiere appeared in 33 games, seeing the court for 17.2 minutes of action. He posted averages of 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds. Labissiere shot 55 percent from the field.

Last season, Labissiere saw the court for limited action against the Sacramento Kings. Although he played in just four games with the main roster, Labissiere was an important piece on their G League affiliate in Stockton. The Stockton Kings were NBA G League champions in 2025.

During the regular season with Stockton, Labissiere produced 16.1 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. Amid their playoff run, he posted a double-double average, 18.2 points and 10.0 rebounds.

With the Go-Go this year, Labissiere appeared in 12 games. As a full-time starter, Labissiere has averaged 19.0 points on 52 percent shooting from the field, along with 7.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

The Wizards will take on Labissiere’s former team, the Blazers, on Tuesday night at 7 PM ET. The veteran center’s status for that matchup is unclear.
