The Toronto Raptors are having a good season in 2026, with a record of 23-16 and fourth in the Eastern Conference. However, their ability to punch above their weight class hasn’t been that good.

With that in mind, getting another superstar at the deadline could help them out by the time the postseason rolls around. Luckily for them, Fansided’s Eamon Cassels believes Toronto could be one of the teams to trade for Memphis Grizzlies two-time All-Star Ja Morant.

“The Toronto Raptors appear to be a clear playoff team. Regardless, they currently have a limited ceiling. Trading for Morant would give them a higher ceiling in a wide-open East, and they have shown a willingness to chase talent. Plus, they could move off the disastrous Immanuel Quickley contract in the process. That sounds like a win-win…In terms of a landing spot that makes sense for all parties, the Raptors would be my favorite,” Cassels wrote.

So far this season, Morant is averaging 19 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game in 18 games played. However, this can be considered a down year, as the year before he was averaging 23.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

With that in mind, Morant would be an overall upgrade from Quickley, for just $25 million more. Plus, a change in scenery might help him bounce back quicker, as he’d go from a play-in team to a playoff lock.

Hopefully, the Raptors consider this, as the playoffs are brutal, and if they want a chance, they need to act now.
