San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has missed his team's past 10 games as he recovers from a calf strain.
The Spurs have continued their hot start and sit fifth in the Western Conference with a 15-7 record. But San Antonio is not quite the same without the awe-inspiring Wembanyama -- who may be closing in on a return after a three-week absence.
According to veteran beat reporter Jeff McDonald at the San Antonio Express-News, Wembanyama will be ruled out for the 11th consecutive game on Monday night, when the Spurs take on the Pelicans in New Orleans.
However, Wembanyama was a full participant in Sunday's practice. McDonald reports that Wemby will be considered "iffy" to play Wednesday, when the Spurs meet the Los Angeles Lakers in an NBA Cup quarterfinal.
San Antonio has a 7-3 record without Wembanyama and will need to get through at least one more game without the All-Star center. But they are getting close to welcoming 7'5'' phenom back into the fold at last.
In 12 games this season, Wembanyama is averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.6 blocks per contest. He doesn't turn 22 years old until January.
