The San Antonio Spurs are on a roll, having won seven of their last nine games and moving into second place in the Western Conference.

In their last matchup, they completed a fourth quarter comeback against the New York Knicks, the team they lost to in the NBA Cup Final earlier this season.

Surprisingly Justin Champagnie led the way for the Spurs, scoring a game-high 36 points. He also knocked down 11 three-pointers, setting a new franchise record for San Antonio.

Victor Wembanyama was dominant as usual, posting a double-double with 31 points and 13 rebounds.

That said, Wembanyama suffered a knee hyperextension, making his status uncertain for the near future.

This is the same injury that Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic just suffered, requiring him to be shut down for at least four weeks.

However, according to NBA insider Michael Wright, Wembanyama's MRI came back clean Thursday showing no structural damage to the knee.

Although, Wembanyama did not fly with the team to Indiana, ahead of Friday's game against the Pacers.

Wright went on to report that he expects Wembanyama to be questionable for San Antonio's following matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Now 24-9 on the season, San Antonio will be optimistic to have Wembanyama back as soon as possible in hopes of running down the 29-5 Oklahoma City Thunder for the No.1 seed in the Western Conference.

If Wembanyama cannot suit up against the Blazers, his next opportunity would come Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
