The San Antonio Spurs got the better of the New York Knicks in their NBA Cup rematch on Wednesday, edging out a 134-132 victory.
However, the win did not come without concern. Spurs All-Star center Victor Wembanayama hyperextended his left knee late in the fourth quarter while coming down for a rebound.
Wembanyama, who was visibly in pain following the play, headed to the locker room, unable to finish the game.
The incident drew some concern from Spurs fans and across the Spurs fanbase.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, initial testing has revealed no significant structural damage to Wembanyama's knee, offering the Spurs early relief.
Before exiting the game, Wembanyama put on a solid performance against the Knicks, dropping 31 points and 13 rebounds in 24 minutes of play.

Despite the injury, Wembanyama addressed it after the game, expressing optimism about his condition.
"Feeling good, just sore Wembanyama said.
He added, "I was confident. I was this close to coming back in the game," Wembanyama said. "They had to hold me back. It was just a hyperextension, so it should be minimal. We've got to do everything tomorrow still to check that everything's OK."
