San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox has found a home with the Spurs after joining the team last February.
Fox spent eight seasons with the Sacramento Kings before he was traded to the Spurs. Klutch Sports Group CEO Rich Paul, who represents Fox, said he initially wanted to stay loyal to the Kings.
"That was one of the things was, 'Rich, I really want to see this thing through here in Sacramento because they drafted me,'" Paul said on the "Game Over" podcast.
Paul and Fox joined forces in 2022 during Fox's sixth season in Sacramento. He led the Kings to the playoffs in 2023, their first appearance in 16 seasons. But trade talks surrounding him grew louder after Sacramento couldn't sustain the success.
"The writing was on the wall, but we handled it very professionally," he said. "You still have to go out and play, and every situation is different. He trusted me to be able to present to him places that I thought made a lot of sense for him going forward in the future."

Paul mentioned the Orlando Magic as another team that was attractive to Fox before the Spurs traded for him.
"Orlando, San Antonio, teams that really needed a point guard, but also had some key pieces that he would fit right in."
Fox is having an excellent season with the Spurs. He's averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 assists and shooting 36.5% from three. He's blended well with star forward Victor Wembanyama and fellow guards Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper.
