A veteran San Antonio Spurs forward may be dealt ahead of February's trade deadline.
Kelly Olynyk's expiring contract has been mentioned in trade discussions, per Forbes' Evan Sidery.
"The Spurs plan to utilize Kelly Olynyk’s $13.4 million expiring contract in trade talks," Sidery said.
Olynyk has played in 18 games this season, averaging four points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He's shooting 51.1% from the field, 29.2% from deep and 73.9% from the line.
Olynyk has provided front court depth for the red-hot Spurs. He saw more minutes when star forward Victor Wembanyama was sidelined with a calf strain. He finished with 10 points and five rebounds in a season-high 19 minutes against the Grizzlies on Nov. 18.

The Spurs, who are second in the Western Conference, may use his salary in a trade that lands them a more consistent player. Olynyk has been in-and-out of the Spurs' rotation, as he's played 15+ minutes in just three games this season.
"San Antonio doesn’t plan to make a splashy deal during trade season, but a rotational upgrade is possible with Olynyk as salary filler alongside draft capital," he said.
San Antonio acquired Olynyk last offseason from the Washington Wizards. The Spurs traded Malaki Branaham, Blake Wesley and a 2026 second-round pick for Olynyk.
Olynyk, 34, is in his 13th NBA season. He played four seasons for both the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat before bouncing around the league. He's averaged 10 points, 5.1 rebounds and shot 37% from three in his career.
