Chris Paul, one of the legends in the NBA, announced on Saturday morning that he plans to call it a career after this season.
Paul, while never winning an NBA title, which many have knocked him for, will still go down as one of the best to ever lace them up at the point guard position. He's done everything he can to help his team win and has received many accolades for it.
A 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA selection, five-time assist champion, nine-time All-Defensive team member, and more, Paul was a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary team.
Many players around the NBA gave him their respect after the announcement, including LeBron James, who took to Instagram to salute his longtime friend.
“POINT GOD!!! Been a helluva ride,” James posted.
James and Paul have been in this league together for a long time and have obviously formed a decent friendship.
While they haven't played together on an NBA team, there's clearly mutual respect.
The same can be said for James Harden, who is now a teammate of Paul's again after their paths had already crossed earlier in their careers.
Harden says he already started this transition, and while he's playing and stuff like that, he's doing other things that he can teach Harden about life after the NBA.
“Twenty-one years, at some point, you know, it’s coming to an end,” said Harden, per Hoops Hype. “I think (Paul) has already started his transition. Obviously, he’s still traveling and playing and things like that. … He’s always on the phone, making calls and having meetings and things like that. So, definitely taking notes for whenever that time comes for me.”
