The San Antonio Spurs (25-10) are traveling to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies (15-20) in a battle of Western Conference teams on Jan. 6.
Both teams are coming into the matchup having lost previous games, but the Grizzlies are currently on a four-game losing streak. On the other hand, the Spurs are coming off losing to the Portland Trail Blazers after winning the two before.
Heading into the matchup, the game's injury report had some convincing news on Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama.
Spurs' Victor Wembanyama (knee) to return on Tuesday vs. Grizzlies, will come off the bench
According to the NBA's latest injury report, the Spurs listed Victor Wembanyama (knee) as available for Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
ESPN's Michael C. Wright wrote that, similarly to the recovery process of Wembanyama's calf strain earlier in the season, which resulted in missing 12 games, the 22-year-old will come off San Antonio's bench and play with a minutes restriction.
The Spurs are hoping that the big man can put the injuries behind him and stay healthy for the rest of the season.
Devin Vassell (adductor) will miss his fourth straight game.
For the Grizzlies, they have a long list of players missing Tuesday's matchup. Ja Morant (calf), Cedric Coward (ankle), Zach Edey (ankle), Ty Jerome (calf), Brandon Clarke (calf), Scotty Pippen Jr. (Toe), and John Konchar (thumb) are all listed as out.
Vince Williams Jr. (Patellar tendinitis) will be available and most likely be in the starting lineup with all of the injuries to Memphis.
