After dropping four of their first five games to start the season, the Phoenix Suns are currently riding a five-game win streak into the fourth weekend of 2025-26.
The Suns are now 8-5, and although the Jalen Green injury has sparked frustration among fans, there's still a lot of promise for the team.
Another questioning move that first-year head coach Jordan Ott has committed to is the development of his rookies. No. 10 pick Khaman Maluach and No. 31 pick Rasheer Fleming have received scarce playing time so far in their careers.
Suns assign Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming to G League
NBA insider Evan Sidery reported on Friday that Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming were assigned to the Valley Suns "to properly develop" the two for "much larger roles in the near future."
Despite the Suns using their top two picks on the young players, neither one of them has cracked the top 20 among rookies in minutes per game.
Both players have appeared in just seven games this season for Phoenix, with Maluach averaging 5.0 minutes and Fleming averaging 5.1 minutes per game.
Phoenix has decided to be patient, and while it's hard for fans to get excited for the pair right now, the plan is to give them time to develop so they can reach their highest potential.
