The Phoenix Suns have finally hired a new head coach, tabbing Jordan Ott as the new man in charge.
Now, the attention shifts to the Kevin Durant trade front. Recent reports stated that the Suns' asking price had decreased in recent weeks, and that report also mentioned the Houston Rockets as one interested team.
Arizona sports radio host John Gambadoro shut down the decreased price conversation, although he did say that discussions will begin now.
"To update the Suns have not been in any discussions with trading Kevin Durant recently. Anything you see about prices coming down are just not true. Focus was on hiring a GM then a Head Coach. NOW that they have a GM and a Coach they will begin discussions with interested teams."
So, per Gambadoro, the Suns had not discussed a Durant trade yet, but now all signs point to those conversations kicking up again with a coach and GM in place.
After Ott was hired, ESPN's Shams Charania said conversations would also pick up: "Conversations will now begin to pick up on a potential trade of Kevin Durant out of Phoenix over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Conversations will begin to heat up. I'm told the Suns will work with Durant and his business partner on a trade home."
But, the report of the Suns dropping their price in recent weeks has been shut down, at least from the reporting of Gambadoro.
