The Kevin Durant trade rumblings have begun to pick up over the recent weeks. On Tuesday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic mentioned the Houston Rockets as one interested team.
Sam Amico of Hoops Wire then pegged the Atlanta Hawks as another, so there seems to be interest in the veteran star on the trade market.
On Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns finally hired a head coach, deciding to go with Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott.
Shortly after, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania gave a new update on the Durant trade front in an episode of NBA Today.
"Conversations will now begin to pick up on a potential trade of Kevin Durant out of Phoenix over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Conversations will begin to heat up. I'm told the Suns will work with Durant and his business partner on a trade home..There is expected to be a robust market for him, 4 to 6 teams seriously interested in Durant potentially ahead of the NBA Draft."
Charania said there's going to be "serious conversations" about moving Durant, so the trade talks should pick up quickly with the Suns hiring a new coach.
At the trade deadline, there were plenty of rumors involving a Durant trade although nothing came to fruition, and at this point, it seems to be a matter of time before Durant finds another NBA team once again.
