The Phoenix Suns enter the 2025-26 campaign with a new-look roster following a hectic offseason.
After missing the postseason with a trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the team made several moves to cut costs and shed bad contracts. The Suns finalized a $99 million buyout agreement with Beal and dealt Durant to the Houston Rockets in a historic seven-team trade.
After trading tons of assets for Durant and Beal, Phoenix ended up with Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 Draft and five second-round selections. With the 10th overall pick, the team selected Duke big man Khaman Maluach.

NBA analyst eyes Egor Demin's fit with Suns
While the 2025 rookie class has yet to see regular-season action, one NBA analyst has already produced a re-draft ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz predicted that Phoenix would have landed Brooklyn Nets point guard Egor Demin in the re-draft.
“Demin would have made a lot of sense for the Suns, who are still set to use Devin Booker at point guard despite him being a natural two-guard,” he wrote. “Tyus Jones left to sign with the Orlando Magic, leaving Phoenix short on table setters. Denim has some real playmaking ability at 6’8” and would have been a strong fit with the Suns.”
Demin's ceiling has previously been compared to that of Luka Doncic's, though his playstyle has also been likened to Josh Giddey. During his lone collegiate campaign at BYU, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27.5 minutes per game across 33 outings.
While the 19-year-old will need time to develop, he has star potential and certainly could have been a strong fit on a Suns roster that seems to be teetering toward a rebuild around Booker. Green is also a natural shooting guard, and his future alongside Booker appears uncertain.
Maluach has potential, but the Suns also traded for Mark Williams. While the latter is currently set to enter restricted free agency next offseason, he may end up being a long-term piece for the team.
