The Phoenix Suns got a significant victory against the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Sunday. It came after the Suns went from 18 points down to come back and get the victory with a game-winning three-pointer from Devin Booker.
Despite his big play at the end of the game, Suns head coach Jordan Ott wanted to commend Booker for his playmaking. He had nine assists to go with his 24 points and six rebounds, but those passes were also key to getting the victory for Phoenix.
Ott continues to appreciate Booker's passing
The Suns have been impressive all season with a lot of great performances from the players. Booker leads the charge as the team's superstar, as he is the leading scorer and playmaker. This season, he is averaging 25.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.
Against the Pelicans, Booker had a superb performance, which was stamped by the game-winner. However, most people who watched the game would agree that Jordan Goodwin was the standout player.

Goodwin scored 26 points to spearhead the Suns' comeback, hitting a career-high of eight three-pointers. It was one of the best performances of the night, which was especially bigger, given that they beat the defending champions.
Coach Ott loved the performance from Goodwin, but he also commended Booker's playmaking for making sure Goodwin got the looks he needed to score 26 points.
"Not sure we win that without Jordan Goodwin, just the ball found him. Book ends with nine assists, but a lot of the threes that Goodwin got were mostly because our superstar passed the basketball... The unselfishness of the group starts with the best player," Ott said after beating the Thunder.
Moving forward, the Suns will continue to be one of the best stories of the year. After a few disastrous seasons, the Suns are back in the Playoff hunt. They are in the seventh seed at the moment, a game and a half behind the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As long as the Suns keep playing this way with Booker, Goodwin, Dillon Brooks, Collin Gillespie, and the rest of the team, they will be a dangerous team.
