Jalen Green return timeline revealed by Suns insider image

After an impressive first two months of the season, the Phoenix Suns have endured a rough stretch of play recently. The Suns have lost four of their last six matchups including a 49 point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last matchup. In that game, the contest appeared to be over before it began with the Thunder outscoring the Suns by 10 or more in all four quarters.

The fall-off has been attributed to injuries as both Jalen Green and Devin Booker have been sidelined. Luckily for Phoenix, they received encouraging news surrounding the status of their two stars.

According to Suns insider John Gambadoro, Booker is likely to return either Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers, or Thursday against the Golden State Warriors.

Gambadoro also offered insight as to when the team hopes Jalen Green will return from injury. After missing no more than 15 games or less in each of his first four seasons, Green has already missed 23 games in his first season with Phoenix. Green is expected to return to action right after Christmas.

The Suns have four games from Christmas to the New Year, any of which could be a targeted return date for Green.

In the meantime, Phoenix will rely on Dillon Brooks, Mark Williams, Grayson Allen and Booker when he returns to stay amid the Western Conference playoff race. After hovering around the middle of the standings, Phoenix has dropped to 14-11, seventh place in the conference and only one game ahead of the Golden State Warriors for eighth place.
