Historically bad Devin Booker stat proves how dysfunctional Suns are image

Suns fans have had it rough over the past 10 years or so.

From 2014-15 to 2019-20, Phoenix didn't have a winning percentage better than 48 percent.

Devin Booker just finished up his 10th season with the Suns, and one stat shows just how hard it has been for the Suns to get over the hump.

After hiring Jordan Ott to be the next Suns head coach, Booker will play for his seventh different full-time head coach next season. That ties the NBA record for most coaches played under during tenure with one team, per NBA analyst Nate Duncan.

Booker is the longest-tenured Suns player. He's been on the team when they were as bad as 19-63 as well as when they were two games away from winning the NBA Finals.

Next season, Booker will play in his fourth consecutive season with a new head coach to start the year.

Phoenix is firing coaches left and right despite some of the resumes these coaches have.

Frank Vogel and Mike Budenholzer only lasted one season despite both winning championships as head coaches within the past five years.

Monty Williams led the Suns to their first NBA Finals appearance in nearly 30 years and coached Phoenix to a 64-win season in 2021-22.

With this history of short leashes for coaches, we have to wonder what the given timeline will be for Ott, especially with the Suns likely not being a top-contending team this upcoming season.
