Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are rolling.
On Friday night, the Suns hosted the New York Knicks and got an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with one of the Eastern Conference’s top teams.
Booker had a performance that helped him tie the legendary Larry Bird in all-time 30-point scoring games with 223 games.
Bird, a Boston Celtics legend, played in nearly 900 regular-season games with only one NBA franchise as a player. Throughout his career, he averaged 24.3 points while shooting 49 percent from the field.
Meanwhile, Booker has been in the NBA since 2015. In over 700 games, he has averaged 25.4 points while hitting on 46 percent of his shots from the field. Booker might not have a resume as decorated as Bird’s, but he’s still got plenty of gas left in the tank.
The Suns guard holds four All-Star appearances. His last happened in 2024, when he earned All-NBA honors in the same season.
So far this year, Booker is knocking down 46 percent of his field goals and draining roughly 30 percent of his threes.
The star guard is producing 25.4 points per game, coming down with 4.0 rebounds, and passing out 6.3 assists per game.
Nobody knew what to make of the Suns heading into the 2025-2026 season. They made major changes, including the trade of Kevin Durant. So far, they’ve been quite impressive.
Booker dropped 31 points, eight assists, and three rebounds against the Knicks to help Phoenix pick up a 112-107 win. The Suns moved to 23-15 on the year.
Currently, the Suns are seventh in the Eastern Conference. They are one game behind the Houston Rockets. Booker and the Suns will take the floor again on Sunday, hosting the Washington Wizards.
