The Philadelphia 76ers have impressed as of late, winning two straight road games against the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies. With Joel Embiid and Paul George finally healthy, head coach Nick Nurse is seeing a glimpse of Philadelphia's full potential.

Along with Embiid and George, the 76ers have plenty of young talent in Tyrese Maxey, rookie VJ Edgecombe and sophomore guard Jared McCain.

Although Edgecombe has impressed and Embiid's return has been critical, no player matters more to the 76ers than Maxey.

Currently, he ranks third in the league in scoring, averaging 30.3 points per game. He's also averaging career-highs in rebounds (4.5), assists (7.2) and blocks (0.9).

In a recent appearance on "Eye for the Game", hosted by 10-year NBA veteran Austin Rivers, Maxey opened up about his ascension into the league and his role with the 76ers.

Furthermore, he credited Joel Embiid for believing in him since the beginning. "Every time I get a chance, I got to give a shout out to Joel (Embiid) ‘cause like he was like really the first person to believe in me," said Maxey.

Maxey went on further to speak about how he refuses to be complacent with his efforts as he strives to improve for him and his team every day. "I want to maximize my entire potential and like I don’t want it to be bullets left in the gun.”

As Maxey continues to rise near MVP-caliber production, all eyes will be on Philadelphia this postseason to see whether or not their mix of veterans and young stars will translate to playoff success.
