The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of good stories to follow this season. They have been a pleasant surprise, as they are fifth in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers are higher in the standings compared to the projected contender, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This season's success can largely be attributed to Tyrese Maxey's ascent to superstardom. He has fully embraced being the 76ers' go-to guy, and he is being rewarded with an All-Star starter nod.
Maxey wants to stand out in the All-Star Game
While this is not his first rodeo as an All-Star, Maxey does want to bring new energy to the All-Star Game. It has lacked a lot of fun in recent years, but it appears that Maxey is ready to be the solution.
Maxey's play style thrives in that kind of environment with his speed and offensive flashiness. He is one of the best players to have in an All-Star Game, especially when he can keep hitting tons of shots.

This season, Maxey has been one of the league's best players. He is averaging 30.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. It is an amazing campaign that deserves to be recognized.
Now that Maxey has been recognized, he wants to repay the people who voted for him by having a great performance in Los Angeles.
"To go out there and have fun, go out there to compete. I'm blessed to be there, not going last year, I have a different type of appreciation for it, so I'm going out there competing, and actually try to play hard and actually win," Maxey said about his All-Star starter status.
The All-Star Weekend has long been criticized for its struggles to make it fun. With all the new formats this season, it could be even more fun, but Maxey will do his part.
