Two teams battling for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference will go head-to-head when the Orlando Magic host the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
Heading into the matchup, the Sixers sit fifth in the standings with a 20-15 record, while the Magic are directly behind them in sixth at 21-17.
Joel Embiid listed as 'probable' for game vs. Magic
The good news for the Sixers is that it appears as though star center Joel Embiid will be good to go for the game.
After initially being listed as "questionable" for the contest, Embiid has been elevated to "probable" on the official injury report, indicating that he'll be available barring any late setbacks. Embiid's final status will be revealed prior to tipoff.
Embiid has played in five consecutive games for the Sixers heading into Friday night, which represents his longest streak over the past two seasons. He needs to play in just one more game this season to match his entire total of 19 from last season.
The meeting between Philadelphia and Orlando will be the third of the season between the two teams. The Sixers bested the Magic in October and Orlando returned the favor in November.
It's also the last meeting of the campaign between the teams, so whoever wins on Friday night will hold the edge in the season series, which could be consequential if the teams remain close to each other in the standings.
