Joel Embiid’s stint on the sideline will continue on Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Philadelphia 76ers star center has officially been ruled out of the contest against L.A. As he continues to deal with right knee soreness.

The contest against the Clippers will be the fourth consecutive game missed for Embiid, who first experienced soreness in his right knee during shootaround prior to Philadelphia’s game against the Boston Celtics last week.

Imaging was done on the knee and no structural damage was found, but it’s clearly still bothering the big man.

On the season, Embiid has appeared in six games for Philadelphia and posted averages of 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 blocks in 23.3 minutes per performance.

Injury issues have been a theme for the Sixers so far this season. Embiid has been limited to just six appearances, while second-year guard Jared McCain has only played in three games so far as he continues to work his way back into game shape following a knee surgery and thumb surgery. Veteran forward Paul George has yet to play in a single game for the Sixers on the season following offseason knee surgery, though his debut is near.

Despite the myriad of injury issues, the Sixers have managed to get off to a decent start to the season. They currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 7-5.
