Joel Embiid hit a Philadelphia 76ers franchise milestone against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
With his first basket of the game, Embiid hit the 13,000-point mark for his career, becoming just the seventh player in Sixers history to reach that number, and the first since Allen Iverson.

The other players to hit that point plateau in a Sixers uniform are Hal Greer, Iverson, Dolph Schayes, Julius Erving, Charles Barkley and Billy Cunningham. Pretty good company for Embiid right there.
It took Embiid 472 games to reach 13,000 points. The former NBA MVP has averaged 27.5 points per game over the course of his career.

Given the injury issues that Embiid has had to overcome consistently throughout his career, every milestone that he hits is worth acknowledging and celebrating.
After a relatively slow start to the season, Embiid has looked a lot more like his old self as of late – a level that he, and many others, weren’t sure he would ever get back to after knee issues derailed his past two seasons.
"I can't sit here and say that I thought this would happen again," Embiid said, via The Athletic. "I was skeptical that I would have a chance of being this consistent. That's why I'm kind of emotional about it. I think there were a lot of people that thought this would never be possible again.
"So, I'm happy that I'm getting the chance to play again and be consistent again. I just want to keep playing, and keep trying to get better every single night. So, this definitely feels great."
As long as he can remain healthy, Embiid will continue to climb up the Sixers all-time scoring list.
