Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers is one of the most experienced coaches in the NBA today. He has coached plenty of teams and players over the years, including many superstars.
Despite the abundance of talent he has seen, only one player stands out to him. That is Joel Embiid, whom Rivers coached during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Rivers believes no one comes close to Embiid
Rivers has had plenty of top-tier players under his tutelage since he started coaching in 1999. This includes Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Despite all those talented players, only one stands out. Embiid is at the top of Rivers' list, which is immense respect coming from the Bucks' head coach. It also amplifies how good Embiid was during his prime.

As the Bucks were playing against the 76ers on Tuesday, it was a fun matchup between a former coach-player duo. Rivers was Embiid's coach during his MVP campaign in the 2022-23 season.
That was an amazing campaign for both coach and player. Embiid played 66 games and averaged 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, a steal, and 1.7 blocks per game.
"I was telling a Hall of Fame player that I coached, and Joel's the most talented player that I ever coached... It's the things you see and then the things you see in practice that he can do. It's incredible," Rivers said about Embiid's talent.
While Rivers and Embiid never went beyond the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, they still left a mark. Embiid is still one of the generation's best players who deserves his flowers.
