ESPN's Shams Charania is reporting that Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George is making his season debut tonight, having missed the first month of the season recovering from offseason procedures.
"Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George is expected to make his season debut at home tonight against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, sources tell ESPN. George has rehabilitated offseason left knee surgery," wrote Charania in a post on X.
George is in the second year of a four-year $211 million deal signed with Philadelphia in the Summer of 2024.
Paul George to make season debut against Clippers
George's debut will come against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Monday night.
The former Indiana Pacer and Oklahoma City Thunder had a disappointing first season with the 76ers to say the least, and is hoping to bounce back with the new look team in 2025-26.
Last year, George only played in 41 games and had his lowest scoring output since his injury-shortened 2014-15 season.
The 34-year-old averaged 16.2 points per game on 43% shooting, to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Philadelphia hopes George fares better in his second season in Philadelphia, as he's paired up with some younger talent in rookie sensation VJ Edgecomb.
Without as big an emphasis on former MVP Joel Embiid, the 76ers have been a much more cohesive unit so far early in the season.
It remains to be seen if George will start or come off the bench in his debut.
