The Philadelphia 76ers have had just 14 standard-contract players on the active roster throughout the 2025-26 NBA season – one shy of the 15-man limit. But that’s likely to change in the near future.

The Sixers are expected to convert Dominick Barlow’s two-way contract into a standard NBA contract in the coming weeks, according to Michael Kaskey-Blomain of ESPN 97.3.

Two-way players can play no more than 50 regular season games and aren't eligible for postseason play. By converting Barlow’s contract to a standard one, the Sixers would remove any restrictions regarding his eligibility.

From Kaskey-Blomain:

"The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to convert forward Dominick Barlow's two-way contract into a standard NBA contract in the coming weeks, according to a league source familiar with the team's thinking.

"The Sixers currently only have 14 players on their active roster, so a corresponding move won't be necessary for the team to convert Barlow's contract. If the Sixers ultimately decide they also want to convert Jabari Walker's contract to a standard deal, they would need to open a roster spot in order to do so."

Barlow signed with the Sixers on a two-way deal in July and has established himself as a key contributor in the frontcourt in Philadelphia.

In 29 games for the Sixers this season (26 starts), Barlow has posted averages of 8.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.4 minutes per performance.
