Johni Broome was one of the best college basketball players in the country last season, competing with Cooper Flagg for national player of the year honors.

Now, Broome is trying to prove he belongs in professional basketball. And the Auburn great is doing everything he can in the G League for the Philadelphia 76ers' affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

On Friday night, Broome had the game of his life.

He put up 50 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. He shot 18-for-34 from the field, including making five 3-pointers.

Broome was the fifth player taken in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, No. 35 overall.

There's some uncertainty about how his athleticism can translate to the NBA. He also wasn't viewed as a great outside shooter.

But a game like Broome just had will make you look a little bit closer. It seems likely that he could be at least somewhat effective at the NBA level.

The 76ers don't necessarily need him right now with Joel Embiid playing at a high level. There might be chances for Broome down the road, though.
