The Orlando Magic started the season as one of the best teams in the league last year. Then a series of injuries derailed their season. Their two stars, Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, are a solid pair to build around. That being said, the team still could improve a lot around the edges. Recent Magic trade rumors are saying that the team is potentially interested in making some trades this offseason to upgrade its roster.
NBA reporter Kevin O’Connor recently revealed that he believes the Magic want to trade for an upgrade.
O’Connor reported that the Magic could be shopping a package of Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, and a first-round pick for that upgrade.
Anthony and Isaac both played important roles on the Magic last season. That being said, both are absolutely expendable. The Magic have plenty of depth behind Anthony and Isaac, making this Magic trade idea possible.
One position that the Magic could definitely use an upgrade at is point guard. Banchero and Wagner are both sizable wings, but the Magic have been needing more scoring from the point guard position.
Anthony, Isaac, and a first-rounder could help them get that piece. There are plenty of teams that would be interested in that pick, and Anthony and Isaac can both help a variety of teams.

Whether this new Orlando Magic trade rumor plays out remains to be seen. Still, the fact that the team is willing to attach a pick and ship off key players shows they are serious about taking the next step towards title contention with their two young stars.
