Stephen Curry's career highs in NBA Finals: Most points, 3-pointers for Warriors star in single game image

Stephen Curry is a three-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP and the league's all-time leader in 3-point field goals. He is the greatest shooter in the history of the game.

In terms of scoring, he's already cracked the 20,000 career points barrier — a mark not many players reach. He's averaged more than 20 points per game in 10 consecutive seasons.

We all know that Curry is an accomplished scorer and shooter, but what is his highest scoring output in an NBA Finals game?

Stephen Curry's career high for points in an NBA Finals game

For a player of Curry's caliber, it's almost shocking to see that he's only scored 40 or more points twice. Once in 2019 against the Toronto Raptors and again in 2022 in Game 4 against the Boston Celtics.

In 2019, Curry had 47. In 2022, he had 43.

Curry's 47 point performance against the Raptors was absolutely masterful. It happened in Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Raptors.

The Warriors were missing both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson for Game 3 of that series, so Curry went absolutely atomic on the Raptors, finishing with 47 points in 43 minutes.

Curry also filled up the rest of the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

An undermanned Golden State team was no match for Toronto that day. The Raptors won Game 3 and went on to clinch the franchise's first NBA title in six games.

Stephen Curry's career high for 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game

Curry was on track to set a new career high for 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game when he hit six in the opening period of Game 1 against the Celtics on Thursday. Curry started 6-of-8 in the first quarter — one of those misses was a half-court heave at the buzzer — but he went just 1-of-6 over the final 36 minutes.

He set an NBA Finals record with nine 3-pointers against the Cavaliers on June 3, 2018. Curry had 33 points on 11-of-26 shooting, including 9-of-17 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors beat the Cavaliers in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the series. They went on to sweep the Cavs, giving Curry the third title of his career.

Most points scored, 3-pointers made by a Warriors player in an NBA Finals game

Curry's 47-point explosion in the 2019 NBA Finals fell short of the franchise record for most points scored in an NBA Finals game. Rick Barry still holds that record after he dropped 55 points against the 76ers on April 18, 1967.

The list for most 3-point field goals in an NBA Finals game is a little more skewed to the modern era. Curry and Klay Thompson unsurprisingly dominate the list for the Warriors.
