After debuting in 1999, NBA 2K is celebrating its silver anniversary with the release of NBA 2K24, the 25th installment of the game. And nothing says an imminent 2K release like the reveal of player ratings.
NBA 2K24 is set to release on Friday, Sept. 8, and to build anticipation, the 2K team has announced the updated ratings for some of the NBA's biggest stars along with in-game captures of their likenesses. In addition to the NBA's stars, there has been a reveal for the cover athlete of the WNBA edition, Sabrina Ionescu, who has a 90 overall rating.
After leading the Nuggets on a historic run to the 2023 NBA title, Finals MVP Nikola Jokic leads the way with a 98 overall rating. Not far behind is a list of stars that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and league MVP Joel Embiid.

NBA 2K24 player ratings
Beginning with the reveal of the game's top-rated player, NBA 2K began sharing ratings for the game on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
In years past, the 2K team has also responded to players' requests to know their ratings and has given a first look at some of the NBA's premiere rookies by revealing their respective ratings, meaning more ratings are to come ahead of the release.

2K Sports first revealed that there will be a "Kobe Bryant Edition" and "Black Mamba Edition" of NBA 2K24, with more editions yet to be unveiled. There will likely be at least a "Standard Edition" with the potential of other alternate editions, as shared in years past.
