OG Anunoby injury update: Knicks star sidelined with hamstring strain image

The New York Knicks will be without starting forward OG Anunoby for the foreseeable future. Anunoby will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a left hamstring strain that he suffered against the Miami Heat on Friday night, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Anunoby left New York's 140-132 win over Miami midway through the first quarter and didn't return to action. He will not travel with the Knicks for their upcoming five-game road trip. After two weeks, he will be re-evaluated.

To this point, Anunoby has appeared in all 12 of New York's games on the season and posted averages of 15.8 points. 5.6 rebounds 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals in 31.1 minutes per performance. Reserve forwards Josh Hart and Guerschon Yabusele will likely see an increase in on-court opportunity in Anunoby's absence.

In addition to Anunoby, the Knicks are also dealing with an injury issue to star point guard Jalen Brunson, who suffered an ankle sprain in a game against the Orlando Magic last week. Brunson was ruled out of the game against the Heat on Friday night, and is considered day-to-day moving forward.

New York's next five games will all be played on the road. They'll travel to Miami, Dallas, Orlando, Brooklyn and Charlotte.
