Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t gotten off to a strong start to this season, but head coach Mike Brown isn’t ready to give up on him yet.

Towns has played the first four games of the season battling through a quad injury, and the results haven’t been pretty. He’s averaging just 17.0 points on 35 percent shooting from the floor to go along with 13.5 rebounds per game. Coming off of one of the best seasons of his NBA career last year, Towns has not picked up where he left off.

Towns struggled immensely in loss to the Bucks

In the Knicks’ latest defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks, Towns ushered in perhaps his worst performance of the season, scoring just eight points on 2-12 shooting in the 121-111 loss to Milwaukee. Towns did haul in 12 rebounds despite the porous effort shooting the ball.

Learning a new system, and playing through an injury are perhaps playing a factor here. Nonetheless, head coach Mike Brown told reporters after the loss to the Bucks about his confidence in Towns moving forward.

“I promise you. If we do the things that we're talking about offensively, in terms of our staples, KAT is gonna be more than fine,” Brown said. “We gotta play with a little bit of pace. All of us, individually. I've talked to KAT about it.”

Towns and the Knicks will look to get back on track later this week when they match up with the undefeated Chicago Bulls on Friday.
