Knicks hold players-only meeting as uncertainty under Mike Brown continues image

The New York Knicks have been a hot topic recently due to their struggles. Although they sit third in the Eastern Conference, New York has lost eight of their last 10 games and are currently facing a four-game losing streak.

That streak includes losses to non-playoff teams like the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks who defeated New York by 17 points at Madison Square Garden Monday.

Amidst New York's struggles, many reports have surfaced. That continued Tuesday as Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported that Knicks' star guard Jalen Brunson called a players-only meeting after Monday's loss.

Following that report, NBA insider Ian Begley reported that the Knicks' players have not fully bought into their roles under new head coach Mike Brown.

That philosophy is a stark contrast from what they experienced last season under Tom Thibodeau.

After firing Thibodeau in the offseason, the Knicks decided to transition from playing a 7/8 man rotation into building a deeper roster and splitting minutes between 9/10 players.

This has seemingly been tough to adjust to, as players have spoken to the media all season about diminished roles in comparison to the season prior.

Although New York still as plenty of time to figure things out, Brown should be kept on a short leash as the Knicks hope to remain in contention as one of the best teams in the conference.

Having been in the top-2 for the majority of the year, New York now finds their lead over fourth place dwindling (0.5 games).
