The New York Knicks got an update on guard Miles McBride on Thursday. Per SNY’s Ian Begley, McBride will be re-evaluated in one week for his ankle injury.
McBride suffered the injury against the Orlando Magic on Dec. 7, and missed the Knicks’ following game against the Toronto Raptors. He had been off to a strong start to the season, averaging 11.6 points per game, while shooting 44.4 percent from three-point range.
His injury means the Knicks will have to try and win the NBA Cup without his services. His point-of-attack defense and strong three-point shooting have proven highly valuable for the Knicks this season. With his absence, Knicks fans can expect to see increased roles for Tyler Kolek, and Jordan Clarkson.
At 17-7, the Knicks are off to a very strong start to the season, and they’ll be looking to put a stamp on it with an emphatic result in the NBA Cup Finals in Las Vegas, even if they have to do it without one of their most important role players.
