Karl-Anthony Towns didn't plan on being a New York Knick this season.
He felt at home in Minnesota with the Timberwolves. But in the final lead-up to the new campaign, the Knicks swung a blockbuster deal to acquire KAT and shock the NBA.
And while Towns has gotten ridicule at times this season, he's also a huge reason the Knicks are still alive in the Eastern Conference Finals, down 3-2 heading into Game 6.
KAT has actually had a statistical conference finals so impressive that it's never been done in NBA history.
Towns is the complete list of players who have averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and two made 3-pointers per game in a five-game span of a conference finals.

Towns has also made more than half of his shots.
Regarded by many as the best shooting big man in the history of basketball, Towns rescued the Knicks with a 20-point fourth quarter in Game 3.
These are the moments he was acquired for. Julius Randle was a good player for the Knicks, but he wasn't a win-you-a-series player. Towns can be that guy.
There's still an uphill climb, but if KAT keeps playing like this, the Knicks have a chance.
