The New York Knicks have expressed interest in Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo, but the latest intel from SNY’s Ian Begley suggests it doesn’t seem likely for him to end up in New York for a second time.
Begley recently said on The Putback with Ian Begley that the rumors between the Knicks and DiVincenzo don’t seem to have any serious smoke right now.
“I’ve dug around on this a little…I have not from either side heard there’s anything significant going on right now. Basically both sides kind of downplaying possibility…Neither side sees it as realistic endpoint right now,” Begley said.
DiVincenzo played for the Knicks during the 2023-24 season, averaging a career-high 15.5 points per game while knocking down 40 percent of his three-pointers. He was later traded to the Timberwolves in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns.
DiVincenzo is averaging 14.0 points per game this season, and could provide the Knicks with elite spacing, and familiarity as a depth move for the Knicks. While nothing seems imminent for now, the Knicks will certainly keep their eye on the situation as they look to snap a 52-year title drought this season.
