The New York Knicks have undergone plenty of changes this offseason after falling to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

In the opening days of free agency, New York moved quickly to add talent, signing veteran guard Jordan Clarkson and stretch forward Guerschon Yabusele. The Knicks then made one of the most surprising moves of the summer, parting ways with longtime coach Tom Thibodeau and hiring former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown as his replacement. Toward the end of free agency, the Knicks continued to add depth by signing guards Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon.

With so many new rotation pieces joining New York’s core, Brown has multiple lineup options as the 2025-26 season approaches. Speaking with the New York Post’s Stefan Bondy, Brown said he “hasn’t settled on a lineup yet.”

Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns are penciled in as starters, but the rest of the lineup is far from set. Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Yabusele are the most likely candidates for the remaining three spots, though Miles McBride and Mitchell Robinson could also push their way into the mix.

For Brown, the competition is a good problem to have. New York is considered one of the deepest teams in the NBA, positioning itself as one of the Eastern Conference favorites entering the season.

Brown is expected to use the preseason to sort out his rotations and finalize a starting five. The Knicks open the regular season Oct. 22 at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
