Jalen Brunson’s stint on the sideline will continue against the Miami Heat on Monday night. The New York Knicks star guard has officially been ruled out of the game against Miami as he continues to recover from a Grade 1 right ankle sprain that he suffered in a game against the Orlando Magic last week.
Jalen Brunson will remain sidelined vs. Miami on Monday night
It will be the second consecutive game that Brunson will miss due to the injury. He was also held out of New York’s 140-132 NBA Cup victory over the Heat on Friday night. Brunson will be considered day-to-day moving forward.
Including the game on Monday night in Miami, New York will play five consecutive road games, which could prove to be a challenge, as the Knicks have yet to win a game outside of the friendly confines of Madison Square Garden this season. They're 0-3 on the road so far.
After Miami, they’ll travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks, followed by trips to Orlando, Brooklyn and Charlotte. Brunson will probably return to game action at some point during that stretch.
On the season, Brunson has appeared in 11 games for New York and posted averages of 28.0 points, 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per performance.
Unfortunately for the Knicks, their injury issues don’t stop with Brunson. Starting forward OG Anunoby will be sidelined for the next couple of weeks, at least, with a hamstring strain that he suffered in the win over Miami on Friday night.
