The New York Knicks will be sidelined for a while due to a shoulder injury sustained during the game against the Orlando Magic, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.

"New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be re-evaluated in four weeks with a right shoulder sprain, sources tell ESPN. Shamet has been one of the league's top shooters -- 42.4% from 3 -- and had emerged as a starter before sustaining the shoulder injury," Charania wrote in a post on X.

With key players sidelined due to injuries early in the 2025-26 season, the Knicks must look to their bench for a replacement for Shamet, who was already stepping in for the injured OG Anunoby.

Landry Shamet will be sidelined for a minimum of one month.

Shamet had been stepping in effectively for Anunoby. As Charania noted in his report, Shamet was shooting an exceptionally efficient 42.4% from beyond the arc.

The eighth-year veteran even scored a career-high 36 points earlier in the season against the Miami Heat.

Shamet, now in his second year with New York, has proven to be an excellent addition to new head coach Mike Brown's strategy.

With two of the Knicks' wing players unavailable, anticipate Brown will start providing playing time to several young players on the bench.

Pacome Dadiet, a 2024 first-round selection, and Mohamed Diawara, a 2025 second-round pick, might get more playing time.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are gearing up to face the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday evening in NBA Cup action, despite being short-handed, they remain in a position to secure a victory.
